Mexico City is a business for computer platforms that provide private transportation with a driver such as Uber and Cabify.

From 2015 to date, there are 29 companies of this type registered in the Mobility Application Control System of the local Ministry of Mobility (Semovi), of which only seven completed their paperwork and some are already in the application stores.

According to information from Semovi, the seven companies that already have proof of delivery of documents and are in the process of validation are Cabify México S de RL de CV; Commute Technologies SAPI de CV; Operadora de Servicios Móviles y de Publicidad SA de CV; Prados de Pirineos, SA de CV; Network of Excellence in Transportation SA de CV; Tracking Systems de México SA de CV; and Uber México Technology and Software, SA de CV.

Cabify México S de RL de CV and Uber México Technology and So-ftware, SA de CV, are the platforms for hiring private transport with a driver that top the list of companies that have a record and are the only ones that have delivered money to the Fund for Taxi, Mobility and Pedestrian, which so far has more than 188 million pesos, money that has not been spent to date.

Commute Technologies SAPI de CV is another of the companies that has their proof of delivery and is in the process of validation; It has its mobile application called Urbvan, which provides collective service to Santa Fe and Polanco, has 16 routes in places like Toluca, north and south, Buenavista, Condesa and Iztapalapa.

According to the Mexican company, the vans offer a safe trip with a professional driver, comfortable seats, Wi-Fi and plugs to charge electronic devices. The costs are from 39 pesos for the Mixcoac route to Santa Fe, up to 105 pesos from Toluca to Santa Fe.

The Operadora de Servicios Móviles y de Publicidad SA de CV has the Taccsi platform, which offers a safe transport service and has satellite tracking; Although the App can now be downloaded, the service is not available.

Prados de Pirineos, SA de CV, is another one that is in the validation process and that can only be downloaded through the Google Play Store, but user registration cannot be done.

Red de Excelencia en el Transporte SA de CV has the RetsaChofer platform only for Android devices and so far it is not possible to register users.

Tracking Systems de México SA de CV, a Grupo UDA company, is a company that promotes prevention and provides solutions to companies in the areas of logistics, traffic, security, and customer service; however, the private transportation service that it will provide in Mexico City through mobile applications is unknown.

Process. Carlos Meneses, head of the Semovi, detailed in an interview for EL UNIVERSAL that the registry of seven legal entities in charge of the operation of computer platforms has been issued, which are subject to a vehicle validation process.

“There are seven registries, the fact that you have one does not mean that you have authorization from Semovi, comparable to the concession, they are being validated. There are some requests and they lack provisions to fulfill in order to reach the registry, ”he said.

He assured that the agency is aware of the regularizations, also indicated that they will maintain a link with the companies and will have security locks such as verifying that the units are not involved in any crime.

"They have to comply with all the requirements that the City itself applies and operates, they will not be able to work vehicles with plates from other states, even from the State of Mexico, the registration will be in accordance with the law of the City," he said.

Despite what was said by the owner of the Semovi, mobile application stores such as Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store already have some of the private transport Apps that are requesting permission from the agency to download, some are even already operating .

According to Semovi, after approving the documentary, physical and mechanical validation (if presented), a hologram will be issued that must contain a two-dimensional vehicle identification code known as “QR”, and a numerical code called CVT, which is the link to the Camovi system, in addition to the security devices established by the secretariat.

These will be associated with the data of the vehicle presented, which will be placed on the windshield on the passenger side. However, some vehicles from these companies, including Uber and Cabify, do not have them.

"They have not told us anything, in the application users are given the discount for the fund, but they have not given us any code and I also think they have not done anything with that money," said Gerardo, an Uber driver, who It also uses other mobility applications, as it ensures that it does not generate the same money as two years ago.
